Chittorgarh
The largest fort in India, and the heaviest story in Rajasthan.
Chittorgarh covers 700 acres on a hill above the plain, and carries the memory of three sieges and three jauhars. You need a vehicle inside the fort — the circuit of monuments is far too spread out to walk.
