Phalodi
Salt-trading town, and the practical stop before Jaisalmer.
Phalodi grew rich on salt and the caravan trade, and its old havelis still show it. Today it is mainly a fuel-and-food halt on the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer road, five minutes from Khichan's cranes.
