Before you set off
- Nine and a half hours is beyond comfortable for one day. Break it at Jaipur, or take the sleeper coach overnight.
- Overnight runs carry two drivers. We do not run single-driver overnight journeys, and neither should anyone else.
- Delhi restricts commercial vehicle entry at certain hours — build the arrival time around it.
- Winter fog north of Jaipur can add two or three hours in December and January. It is not predictable.
Questions about this route
How long does Jodhpur to Delhi take by road?
About nine and a half hours of pure driving for 600 km, so eleven to twelve hours door to door with breaks. In December and January, fog can extend that significantly.
Is the sleeper coach a good option for this route?
It is the reason we run one. Leaving Jodhpur in the evening puts you in Delhi at breakfast with the day still ahead of you, rather than losing it to the highway.
