Rajasthan
Jaipur
The Pink City — the busiest, and the best served, corner of Rajasthan.
India's first planned city, laid out in 1727 on a nine-block grid. Amber Fort, the palace complex and Jantar Mantar are all UNESCO-listed, and the bazaars are the reason most groups want an extra evening here.
