Fatehpur Sikri

Before you set off
- The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. This catches more groups out than anything else on this route.
- Vehicles stop several hundred metres from the Taj gates — electric shuttles cover the last stretch.
- Fatehpur Sikri sits directly on the Jaipur–Agra road and adds only about three hours.
- Sunrise at the Taj is worth the early start, and the queue is a fraction of the mid-morning one.
Questions about this route
Should we drive Jodhpur to Agra in one day?
We would not recommend it. Break the journey at Jaipur — it makes the driving humane and turns a transfer into a proper Golden Triangle tour.
How many days for a Golden Triangle tour from Jodhpur?
Six days works well: Jodhpur to Jaipur, two nights in Jaipur, on to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri, Agra to Delhi, and back. Five is possible but tight.
